Bookings cancelled between 30 to 15 days prior to arrival date – 50% of reservation value shall apply.
Bookings cancelled between 15 days to 7 days prior to arrival date – 75% of reservation value shall apply.
Bookings cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival date and no shows – 100% of reservation value shall apply.
Please note that the cost of processing any refunds (i.e. bank transfer fees) are to be paid by the client and would be taken out of the value of the refund amount.
Terms and Conditions
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all guests staying at The Slow Leopard Dar es Salaam, and govern all services including accommodation, meals, the bar, and use of facilities.
Booking and Reservations
Reservations can be made directly via our website, email, phone, or through third-party booking platforms. Alterations and cancellations of existing reservations must be made in writing to reservations@theslowleopard.com. A valid passport or government-issued ID is required for check-in, a copy in advance ensures a speedy check in. Guests must be 18 years or older to make a booking or stay in our dormitories. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Rates and Payment Policy
All prices are listed in Tanzanian Shillings (TSH) and include applicable local taxes. A deposit of 25% is required to confirm a booking. The balance of the payment is due 30 days before the date of arrival. If the booking is made in under 30 days, payment in full is required. Unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and selected mobile payment platforms (M-Pesa).
Cancellations and No-Shows
Once your booking has been confirmed, cancellation charges apply as follows:
Bookings cancelled 30 days prior to arrival date – receive a full refund
Bookings cancelled between 30 to 15 days prior to arrival date – 50% of reservation value shall apply.
Bookings cancelled between 14 days to 7 days prior to arrival date – 75% of reservation value shall apply.
Bookings cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival date and no shows – 100% of reservation value shall apply.

Hostel Facilities and Rules
Opening hours: 7:30 AM – 11:00 PM daily.
Breakfast: Served daily from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
All rooms are non-smoking.
All dormitories are mixed-gender.
All bathrooms are shared and separate.
Towels are provided and must be returned at check-out.
No food & drink in the rooms.
No non guests are allowed in the rooms
Street parking is available at your own risk
Loss and Damage
Lost key: TSH 15,000 charge
Lost towel: TSH 20,000 charge
Additional guest: TSH 30,000 charge
Guests are responsible for any intentional or negligent damage to hostel property and may be charged accordingly.
Smoking and Alcohol
Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms or any enclosed areas. No outside alcohol is permitted on the premises. Alcohol is available for purchase at the bar.The bar reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who appears intoxicated or behaves inappropriately.
Conduct and Behavior
Quiet hours are observed from 12:00 AM to 7:30 AM.Disruptive or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the property without refund.Guests must respect the comfort and privacy of others in shared spaces.
Liability
The Hostel is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings. Lockers are available, and guests are encouraged to use them.The Hostel is not responsible for any delays or failure in service due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure).
Privacy and Data
Personal information is collected and stored securely for the purposes of reservation management and communication. It will not be shared without consent, except as required by law.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes shall be handled in the appropriate legal forums within Tanzania. By staying at The Slow Leopard Dar es Salaam, guests agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
